Thermal—Airflow Coupling in Hourly Energy Simulation of a Building with Natural Stack Ventilation

چکیده
Natural ventilation dominates in Polish residential buildings. It is a simple and low-cost system but its performance affected by varying environmental conditions. Hence, setting up constant airflow results errors when calculating heating cooling energy. In this paper, an attempt to integrate the buoyancy effect natural of building at hourly resolution with simulation method EN ISO 13790 obtain energy use for space presented. The ping-pong coupling algorithm was proposed applied. Hourly variation rate from ?26.8 m3/h (flow outdoor interior building) 87.2 55 on average. lack resulted overheating during summer indicated necessity application or other techniques reduce solar gains. Application ?38.0 m3/h. Detailed EnergyPlus statistical analysis proved applicability stack-induced assessment. coefficient determination R2 = 0.936, mean squared error MAE 5.72 root square RMSE 7.86

Infiltration and Natural Ventilation Model for Whole-Building Energy Simulation of Residential Buildings: Preprint
The infiltration term in the building energy balance equation is one of the least understood and most difficult to model. For many residential buildings, which have an energy performance dominated by the envelope, it can be one of the most important terms. There are numerous airflow models; however, these are not combined with whole-building energy simulation programs that are in common use in ...
متن کاملEstimating urban natural ventilation potential by noise mapping and building energy simulation
Maximising the natural ventilation of a building can be beneficial in terms of comfort and reduced reliance on air conditioning. In noisy urban areas this can conflict with the need to reduce the ingress of external noise. In this study the effect of building exposure to noise on natural ventilation potential is investigated. The occurrence of window openings on a building façade was adjusted a...
متن کاملNatural Ventilation: Analysis of Indoor Airflow in an Assumed Cubic Building with Opposite Openings by CFD Investigations
The natural ventilation is an easy way to exchange the indoor polluted warm air with outdoor fresh air. The wind power injects outdoor fresh air into the building. A good indoor air current and subsequently a proper exhaust depend on the openings’ conditions and their situations. A serious architectural question is under what conditions of the openings the wind-cross ventilation can be effectiv...
متن کاملSimulation of Radon Mitigation in Residential Building with Ventilation
There are many indoor pollutants in the residential buildings. Of those radon is a major and harmful indoor pollutant in most countries. Radon sometimes entries to the house through building materials. High insulation and tightness in order to increase energy efficiency and to lower energy costs is led to the indoor air quality problems. Ventilation is a good method to dilute radon contaminant ...
متن کاملEnergy efficiency in a building complex through seasonal storage of thermal energy in a confined aquifer
Confined aquifers are formations surrounded by impermeable layers called cap rocks and bed rocks. These aquifers are suitable for the seasonal storage of thermal energy. A confined aquifer was designed to meet the cooling and heating energy needs of a residential building complex located in Tehran, Iran. The annual cooling and heating energy needs of the buildings were estimated to be 8.7...
